Art

Art at King Charles I School:

The aim is to familiarise students with a body of artistic knowledge skills, principles and vocabulary, so that students should become competent and confident in not only producing images and ‘works of art’ but also in responding, with reasoned arguments, to works produced by others, and to features of the natural and man- made environment. We offer them equal access to Art and the chance to experience success and enjoyment in their work.

We hope to engender a perception in all out students of Art as a significant competent of any culture, whether at the local, national or international level.

Making Lanterns

Twenty eight Year 7 and 8 pupils worked with Artists - Kate and Jo Deburgh, who specialise in running art workshops with a recycling theme.

Pupils had to decorate four panels using shapes cut from plastic bags. The panels were then sewn together to make Christmas lanterns.

The lanterns were exhibited at the Broadwaters Christmas Fayre.
