Changes to the Online Safety Act in 2027 will introduce regulations including strict age verification for apps, banning of social media for under-16s and restrictions to other online services such as livestreaming for under 18s. Our school uses Smoothwall filtering and monitoring to help keep students safe online. Smoothwall automatically blocks harmful or inappropriate websites and filters content in real time, even as new pages appear. Its monitoring tools alert staff to any online behaviour that may indicate a safeguarding concern, allowing us to act quickly and support students when needed. By combining strong filtering, continuous monitoring, and clear digital-safety policies, we create a safer, more responsible online environment for all learners.
