Mental Health & Wellbeing
Good mental health is important for helping children and young people to develop and thrive. A student’s emotional health and wellbeing influences their cognitive development and learning as well as their physical and social health and their mental wellbeing in adulthood.
It is normal for students to feel down, anxious, over-whelmed and worried from time to time. As a school we aim to provide support and guidance for our students’ academic studies and their pastoral needs. We offer the following services in school:

- PSCO support sessions
- Pastoral mentoring
- Peer mentors
- Exam stress support group
- Young Carers Support Group
- School counsellor
- Clinical Psychiatrist
- Mental Health First Aiders trained in how to identify, understand and help

Wellbeing and Emotional Support Teams in Schools
The wellbeing and emotional support teams in schools service is designed to help children and young people access mental health and wellbeing support early on in educational settings. The team offer short term support delivered by education mental health practitioners (EMHPs). Referrals are made through our Heads of Year and the website offers a wealth of support techniques.
