House System
What is the house system?
Students are assigned into one of our 3 houses Blounts, Chads and Queens alongside members of their tutor group.
Over the course of the school year, students will have the opportunity to take part in many extra-curricular events. Every event they participate in earns House points. Students will gain a sense of belonging to their House from their very first assembly with their Head of House and House captains, who will share with them the calendar of events for them to compete in. Each House is a mini community with students ready to compete, cheer and celebrate throughout their time at KCI.

The house system here at King Charles I strives to offer something more – a way for every single student to get involved in something they love doing, something they can complete together with friends, or have opportunities that they otherwise never would within their school lives. It’s not always about being the fastest runner, the most artistic or the best and greatest at something – it’s about making the most of all the experiences you can!
My simple motto with the house system is this: the more you put into it, the more you get out of it!

Through house events and competitions, students are encouraged to get involved, challenge themselves, and achieve in ways they may never have imagined. The house system is about discovering hidden talents, building confidence, and developing character beyond the classroom.
As Head of Chads, I will be your biggest cheerleader and a constant source of support. I’m here to celebrate every individual, champion your successes, and ensure every member of Chads feels valued, connected, and proud to be part of our school community.
