EXTRA CURRICULAR

KING CHARLES I SCHOOL CHARACTER ACADEMY

The Character Academy at King Charles I School plays an integral role in our meaning of ‘supporting successful futures’ for our students. Whilst academic attainment is a key element of school life, it is complemented by a broad and enriching wider curriculum to provide a rounded education. We pride ourselves on developing young people with character who are both interesting and interested. We provide a diverse range of opportunities and experiences, which equips and prepares students with the social and cultural capital needed to excel. Our extra-curricular and enrichment programme provides new physical challenges and skill building, alongside service in the community and charitable fundraising, enhancing the awareness of others. We want students to challenge themselves, to discover what they care about and enjoy, and in doing so to make new friendships and grow as young adults.

The Character Academy at King Charles I School consists of three core elements:

  • Extra-curricular clubs and societies that take place before, at lunch or afterschool;
  • House Events that foster a spirit of identity, teamwork, healthy competition and charity;
  • Enrichment which afford our students opportunities to explore, discover and grow beyond the classroom or school gates.

The Character Academy supports students’ personal development through team work, resilience, leadership and positive challenges. We aim for all of our students to be able to access the best of human thought and creativity so that they can graduate from our school as well rounded and informed citizens ready to take on the diverse challenges ahead.

Our autumn term extra-curricular and House events schedules will be available at the start of
September. Please note all clubs will begin week 2.
